Kate and Will's puppy name revealed!

Bauer-Griffin

Kate and Will walk cocker spaniel puppy Lupo on the beach on Jan. 12.

The cocker spaniel adopted by Prince William and Duchess Kate is named Lupo, the palace confirmed to the Associated Press Tuesday.

Named after the Latin word for wolf, little Lupo has already become a viral sensation; as Twitter user @RoyalWatcher pointed out, the handle @LupoCambridge has already been snapped up, presumably by an enterprising royal fan.

The name came to light while Kate was visiting schoolchildren in Oxford, England. Her royal husband is currently in the Falklands, as part of his military service.

Why didn't they name the dog Camilla Parker Bowles ? Oh there all ready is a dog named that at Buckingham Palace.

Don't insult that dog. But when you consider what Diana looked like as opposed to what Camilla looks like? Is he just blind as a bat? Camilla looks sooooooo ugly! I personally think that Prince Charles could not take Diana being 1,000,000% more popular than him!

Wow ..... This is ground breaking headline news ...! I was guessing the dog's name was Pippa.

As far as Silly Willy being in the military, I pulled 3 tours to the Afghanistan/Pakistan border with Marine Force Recon with one our tours being 18 months, we didn't see him anywhere near where we were, oh, that's right, he was deployed to the Falkland Islands for 6 weeks. I wonder if he ate MRE's as good as ours were and cooked on a hot humvee engine block?

Nice puppy, but to be proper shouldn't the tittle be Will and Kate? after all he is the Royal in the Royal couple it would seem his title would grant first billing, or would that be sexist?

    #1.5 - Tue Feb 21, 2012 2:50 PM EST

You people that are SHOCKED and asking "this is news".. you knew what the story was about when you clicked to read.. and after reading the other million times someone wrote it, did you think you were being original? Come on, it was just a light piece for a smile and those that are interested in them as the Faces of Englands future so to speak...

If you want hard-hitting News go to another story and stop trashing the smiles that came to those of us who were realistic in our expecations of what it was about... there are planty of them out there where your negativity and sarcasm would be better suited.

Jazzman, we're not going to see William in Afghanistan because of who he is so quit fussing about it. The Falkland assignment is training, not to be confused with serving in a war zone. He's who he is and you are who you are and yea rah, you served in Afghanistan. You guys today think being overseas for 6 or even 18 months is a big deal. My dad spent three years overseas during World War II without coming home at all. He joined because he wanted to go, parachuted into Normandy, and never in his life did he say, hey, lookit me, look what I did, I'm so great and you aren't. No, he came home went to trade school on the GI bill and got on with living his life. I can't imagine him sitting on the Internet (if it had existed then) typing drivel because he thought he was clever. No, I did not serve in the military. I grew up in the 1950s and 1960s when women were much less likely to serve in the military. Your generation has no concept of what the Greatest Generation was all about. Most of them are gone now, and the ones that are left are elderly, and this world will never see another generation (certainly not yours) that can even begin to hold a candle to them.

Ruthie I find that those who have served are less likely to brag. Pay Jazzman no attention, like you said these folks are who they are. No reason for anyone to be jealous of them, they are just folk. They put their britches on the same as anyone else, now they may be more expensive britches.

Why didn't they just call it "Dog"?

First you're in the section "Animal Tracks", you see the title "Will and Kate's Puppy's Name Revealed", then you see the picture of them with the puppy. Now at this point I'm thinking you know it's going to be about animals. Then, you see the title and photo, which should clue you into the contents. And yet, you then proceed to read the article, or just look at the picture, I don't know, and after all that, you tell us you don't care. And, many of you seem pretty worked up about the fact that you don't think it's news.

To each his own, but why are you in "Animal Tracks", clicking on the link, and then taking the time to announce you don't care, when you could have saved yourself some grief by not reading the article at all?

I'm getting the impression most of you complainers loved seeing and reading that article just so you could tell us how offensive this article is to you, and how you want some REAL news. Here's a tip, it's under World, Money, and U.S. Give that a whirl, and comment on some of that.

@KATE-344962--I didn't mean to like your comment btw....hit that button instead of the reply button. A little cute story?? Really, do poeple have nothing better to do than read about what a prince and his wife are naming their dog? Has poeple's lives gotten so boring or are we just sooooo obssessed with the private lives of our so-called (I write so-called, because most of them have done nothing of any relevance to even acheive this stardom that we have endowed them with) celebrities, that even the disclosure of their dog's name is news-worthy. I think there has to be a revival. A revival to bring up human morals and values. Honoring poeple for their acheivements instead of their body and looks or because like you wrote they have a rich, powerful husband. Honoring poeple for their values, for sticking to their ideals, for working hard for what they believe in, for remaining faithful to one wife and family, values which were valued and honored a few years back but are scoffed at nowadays. It's now hip to have marraiges that cost millions but last 2 days, it's hip to have every part of a person's body artificially modified to look like some model human being that's acceptable to society. It's hip to be on drugs and starve to maintain that look. Must I go on?

Ranze, you not only read the story, you're reading the comments. I agree that in the scope of the world, this isn't important, but it's not going to hurt you that someone wrote it and others are reading it. I'm sure you are interested in things that others find frivolous. To each his own.

Stop with the irrelevant updates on celebrities lives. I don't care who got a dog, what he was named, etc..

If you don't care, Sally, what are you doing in the Animal Tracks section? Are you lost, drunk or irretrievably stupid?

Well, I think it's a really cute story. I tend to see in here a bit of jeolousy maybe?? I, myself, get pretty tired of all the bad news and it is a very nice break from all of that. Who doesn't just love to see a new puppy? C'mon, put a smile on your face .... you can't go around with a frown all your life!!

I don't think people are being jealous as you think. Everyone of us in the US has many pets and we love them very much. You should be able to say to yourself that this is not news. Because they have money and a country worship them and now they want attention from the rest of the world. Please wake up it is all vanity and everyone started to know that money is not every thing regardless what europeans is trying to spread in America. Every day in Hollywood a star showed you that money is nothing and there is more to life then money.

Well here's my take on it... this is Whelenman's wife BTW... as young girls we grow up with the fairy tale stories of the prince on his shinning steed, who comes outta nowhere and whisks the lucky girl off her feet and they live happily ever after in the palace... Kate is that real life girl who found a real prince, who lives a wonderful life in the palace... One... One common girl out there made the story books tales come true. You see ladies, it really can happen. It's not just a BS story we get fed as kids. Huzzah and Bravo for this young couple!

so i can assume your still waiting for you prince charming?

how many royal families still exist in the world with single men still who marry common girls?

Robin, I think its cute too. But, I would have been more impressed had Kate, Will, Barry and Michelle adopted a homeless animal from a shelter. And, I'm betting that Kate gets more kisses and attention from that dog than she does from her proper and restrained British prince.

                                      Honestly who cares?

I don’t know what is up with all these UE bull @!$%# lately. You can’t turn on the news without these idiots being on the news. What is so great about them and their lives because all I see is them trying to compete with Americans?

Enough of all these foreign non-sense already, if Europe was so great with their ancient civilization style idea, they will never leave their country to the USA. They fill the country up and they forever talking garbage about us Americans. I work for a company and that is all you find there, Europeans, they vested our country and now Americans starting to embrace their garbage and royalty worship. This is why MSN keep putting them on the news.

You mean US Americans I assume- and yes for compeeting, but it the other way around, in almost everything EU/Japan with 500,000,000 + Japan, people at least in the northern EU countries, is way ahead in technology, social care, education, and living standard-- but most here get fed a lot of bs via most news casts.

Why was I just asked recently to go to Germany to learn all the tools that can make computer chips for the largest computer company in the world, same as 45 years ago, I mean why is that?--And why was I asked to come here and be a scientist? what is it MIT does not have?--I wish we could catch up here, but not the last 45 years!, Never mind the lack of infra structure, thus everyone has to be driven everywhere, including children, I was never driven anywhere when I was a kid in Denmark, there were all kinds of connections.

I have no idea "why you were asked to come here and be a scientist", either.

"Come to the U.S. and be a scientist!" (your statement rings silly)

especially since you can not blog on the right page about the correct topic.

Smile .....People are bitching about how ugly Camilla Parker Bowels is on THIS page.

Get in step with these retarded couch-lards or clear away from their attempts to make themselves feel better by belittling the rich and famous.

None of them read YOUR article.
